Titel
Video teleconferencing-first experiences with a multipoint experimental system
Abstract
In a conference all the participants can see and hear all the other participants. If the same effect could be achieved by telecommunication, much travelling could be avoided. A system has been tried experimentally in which each participant needs only a simple video camera and monitor, and microphone and speaker, while composite video displays showing all the participants are assembled at a central location. The system is successful at this level, but more work is needed to achieve good presentation of documents by video.
