A dynamic model of gas scavenging and particle removal is developed and discussed for the case of a raindrop. Emphasis is laid upon the inclusion of a complex reaction system in the liquid phase, whereas the transport processes are simplified. In this way the authors obtain for the concentrations in the liquid phase a rigid nonlinear algebro-differential equation system which is solved by a modified Gear-algorithm. The chemical system used in the model and the problems of its calculations are presented in the second part of this paper.
