Wavelength conversion and switching of high speed data signals using semiconductor laser amplifiers
Abstract
Nonlinear gain dynamics in semiconductor laser amplifiers enables ultrafast signal processing. Wavelength conversion of up to 18 Gbit/s data signals is demonstrated. The switching characteristics are applied to the operation of an AND gate for 30 ps pulses.
