Titel
Reactive Order Coordination in Manufacturing Networks through Automated Negotiations
Abstract
The shift from seller markets to buyer markets which has occurred in recent years has increased competition between enterprises. Competitors react to pressures regarding cost and innovation by focusing on their core competence and the purchase of all necessary products and services. As a result, enterprises increasingly depend on cooperation in order to complete given tasks. Against this backdrop, manufacturing networks have lately emerged. So far, no suitable methods exist for the new tasks of production planning and control (PPC) that are created through the cooperation in networks. This article examines reactive order coordination which is a cross-sectional task of PPC. Based on the characteristics of production networks, the demands on reactive order coordination are identified and their task area demarcated. The article primarily examines the possibility for using automated negotiations for network-wide fault management. Finally, a production net of the semiconductor industry is used as example to demonstrate the industrial usability of the concepts presented.
