In times of complex supply chains with just-in-time and just-in-sequence-deliveries, the availability and reliability of intralogistics-systems have become more important, because in-house-logistics services cannot be produced to stock. The intralogistics industry faces this challenge by providing robust and oversized systems without intelligent maintenance techniques and services. The realization and operation of these systems is characterized by a waste of resources and the high demanded availability is not achieved. Intelligent maintenance techniques and actions could help increasing availability. At the same time adequately dimensioned systems could contribute to minimizing the waste of resources. Therefore, the Chair of Factory Organization together with partner organizations approaches the problem of construction and maintenance of intralogistics-systems in order to find different, more efficient ways to reliability and availability.
