Titel
Generic process model as part of system design and development for E-learning
Abstract
Process models can be found in diverse application areas, especially in the field of development of software systems. ELearning systems are a special kind of software: usually a set of e-Learning experts with predefined roles participate on the development process, the target group of the system is (or should be) well known in advance of the system design, and last but not least, the teaching and training content has to be suited to the target group, the field of application and the underlying didactical approaches. This triangle of dependencies influences the system's design and development. Thus, existing process models should be specially suited to the needs of an e-Learning project. This approach is followed by ROME, the Rostock Model for systematically developing E-Learning products and services. The underlying ideas of this model will be described in the paper.
