Abstract
The paper will focus on the drying of transformer oil. Therefore several online techniques were investigated that guarantee an interrupted transformer operation. Thereto belongs the drying of oil by particle removal and thus a removal of bound water, vacuum technology and adsorption technology. It was discovered that the adsorption technology will suit best, if cellulose is used, because this material will not influence the dissolved gas analysis of the oil compared to vacuum technology. The theory of a significant reduction of the water content by removal of bound water could not be verified by the investigations.
