Manufacture of TiCO nanoparticles by laser pyrolysis
Abstract
This study is related with the general topic of new materials for high temperature applications and in particular for nuclear reactors. Carbon based materials (for example graphite) are attractive materials for such applications due to their high thermal conductivity, low electrical resistivity, high strength, high modulus, excellent thermal shock resistance, and light weight. They are widely used as engineering materials, such as heaters, electrical contacts, high temperature heat-exchanger, rocket nozzles, plasma facing materials in fusion devices and leading edges of aircraft wings, etc.
