On the nature of knowledge-intensive organisations: Strategy and organisation in the new economy
Abstract
This paper presents some fundamental thoughts on the nature of knowledge-intensive organisations and how management can (re-)design their organisations in order to become adaptive and sustainable in the new economical constellation. The findings of our study show that this should imply an integrated focus on a broad spectrum of organisational dimensions: emphasis on human beings, integration of a set of different human beings, structuring and organisation of relationships, provision of direction and steering, performance measurement and integrative thinking.
