Abstract
For Si3N4 ceramic of two different densities the dynamic properties, the microscopic material structure and the terminal ballistic behaviour have been determined. The results of these investigations suggest an important influence of the microstructure on the terminal ballistic behaviour and thus on the ceramics protection capability against impact processes.
