Title
Critical adiabatic shear strength of low alloy steel under compressive loading
Abstract
The adiabatic shear band phenomenon is investigated by means of a Split-Hopkinson-Pressure bar with dies, which produce a shear loading in the specimen. The results of a low alloyed steel and a titanium-alloy are presented in terms of critical adiabatic shear strength, punch velocity and deformation.
