Corrosion resistant coating for brass surfaces

A new hard coating system for the protection of brass surfaces was developed and launched within the industrial production of brass fittings. The heteropolysiloxane lacquer is prepared in a computer regulated production line. It is applied to brass fittings by spray coating in an electrostatic field using rotation turbo bells. Upon thermal curing, the transparent hard coating shows superior weathering and scratch resistance compared to purely organic coatings.
