Title

Concept for a retina implant for ganglion cell stimulation applicable for patients suffering from retinitis pigmentosa

Abstract
This work describes the concept of an implant of an electrostimulation of retinal ganglion cells applicable for patients suffering from retinitis pigmentosa. The proposed system is based on a novel combination of microelectronic and micromechanical methods that will allow the fabrication of miniaturized flexible silicon multielectrode structures with integrated CMOS circuitry, e.g. for power and data transfer as well as stimulation pulse generation.
