Abstract
Die Erfindung betrifft ein Brennstoffzellensystem mit einer Polyelektrolytmembran-Brennstoffzelle sowie ein Verfahren, mit dem der Druck innerhalb der Brennstoffzelle ueber die Menge des eingeleiteten Brennstoffs reguliert werden kann. Diese Regulation erfolgt ueber Drucksensoren, die ueber eine elektronische Steuereinheit gesteuert werden.

An electronic controller switches the microvalve in accordance with the pressure sensor signals. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for the corresponding control method USE - A fuel cell pressure and feed control system, e.g. for miniaturized polymer electrolyte fuel cells (PEMFC) operated under slight excess pressure of 50-100 mbar. ADVANTAGE - Conventional e.g. metal hydride-based hydrogen sources operate at about 2 - 10 bar pressure. A conventional pressure-reduction regulator is typically bulky due to its large diaphragm and casing. The new design enables considerable miniaturization. Pressure in the cell is controlled within a given range. The sensor can be included within the cell; the valves are readily miniaturized.
