Title

Cleanroom Software Engineering: A Requirements Engineer's View

Abstract
It was claimed four years ago that the early phases of the software development life-cycle are not well supported in Cleanroom Software Engineering [22, 28]. To prove or to disprove such claims this article surveys the current state of techniques and methods used in the early phases in Cleanroom from a requirements engineers point of view. The survey is based on a systematically derived characterization scheme which is applied on a set of "published" Cleanroom (requirements-) techniques. The goal of this survey is twofold: First, to provide an overview of the current state in this area of Cleanroom tech niques for practitioners and second, to point out areas where further research is needed.
