Case-Based Knowledge Management in Technical Diagnosis
Abstract
In order to constantly provide and safeguard company specific-diagnostic knowledge, the report-based diagnosis system FADIS++ has been developed and successfully implemented in actual practice. It is based on a holistic management approach which covers the acquisition, representation and processing of knowledge. Starting with the problem, this paper explains the concept of report-based knowledge management. The advantages and disadvantages of the chosen type of knowledge representation are shown. Practical examples present the application areas of FADIS++ and at the same time illustrate the benefits for the user.
