Titel
Basic investigations on a system for measuring intraocular pressure
Abstract
Investigations on an intraocular implant system for continuous measurements of intraocular pressure are introduced. In a first version the system consists of a miniaturised pressure sensor, which is completely en-capsulated in biocompatible silicone. In a second version, the sensor is connected to transponder components for wireless data and energy transmission. Pressure measurements are performed to verify the influence of the coating material on the pressure signals. Only a small offset due to the influence of the silicone coating is observed. The performance of the sensor is comparable to established methods of measuring the intraocular pressure.
