Abstract
Four German pressure stations to measure incident and total head pressure were attached closely to BRL pressure stations at the West Airblast Line on the MINOR SCALE EVENT. The objectives of the experiment were to verify German airblast gages to survive freefield environment, to compare the results with BRL measuring systems and to verfy measurements made in the Large German Tunnel Airblast Simulator. All the pressure stations survived and a very acceptable data-return was accomplished. The positive phase duration and peak overpressure data agree with the BRL measurements. Some deviation was found in positive impulse and positive pressure duration data. A post-test dynamical calibration of two pressure stations in a shock tube showed an unsuitable cable connection between transducers and charge amplifiers to be responsible for this problem. -EMI
