DaTile interface description. Version 5. The Darmstadt tiling for efficient access to very large portable raster images
Abstract
The DaTile format has been developed in the department "Prepress and Publishing Systems" within the FhG-IGD. DaTile is a toolkit for the handling of very large raster images. It allows the storage, exchange and access of raster images with an arbitrary number of color components, bits per color component (specified independently for each component), and color systems. The access to the raster image data is organized in scan direction invariant way. With DaTile it is possible to capture output of our raster image data generating systems (DaScript, DESIRe, EuroRIP, CDP, ...) for further processing or export to a color electronic prepress system.
