Title

Burning of Pu in LWR -MOX fuel elements- compared to other treatment

Abstract
Conversion of nuclear weapons fissile material is not too difficult for uranium 235 but needs knowhow and time for plutonium 239. Dismantling, transportation and temporary storage is dangerous for environment and non-proliferation. Five ways of destroying plutonium are discussed. Storage or burning in power reactors (MOX technique) are the most promising solutions for the plutonium problem.
