Abstract
Successful companies are oriented themselves to the value creation process. This means rethinking even for the indirect service function of maintenance. Possible organization forms for in the area of maintenance are shown, as are combination variations. One approach, for example, is a lean, central service center with maintenance staff integrated into the production process. The holistic process responsibility makes this a successful combination.
