VRML and Java - Programming of 3D Worlds for the Internet. Tutorial

Other Title
Tutorial: VRML and Java - Programming of 3D Worlds for the Internet
Abstract
This tutorial introduces the Virtual Reality Modeling Language (VRML) focusing on the interfaces between VRML and the multi-purpose programming language Java: the Java API "JAPI" (Java Scripting Application Programmers Interface) and Java applet Interface EAI (External Authoring Interface). These interfaces allow the manipulation of 3D interactive worlds on the Internet by arbitrarily complex programs. In the tutorial the specification and applications are presented and demonstrated in examples. The tutorial is held at the Anigraph '98 conference.
