The device serves for the storage of workpieces and has at least one storage rail. The storage rail has a receiving end for the workpieces and a discharge end. The workpieces can be moved along the storage rails. A large number of storage rails are arranged along a circulating path in the region of support frames. The support frames form a closed circuit along which the storage rails can be positioned mainly traversely to their longitudinal extension. The storage rails are provided in the area of the support rails by an incline running from the receiving end to the discharge end.
