Abstract
The invention relates to a device for scanning the surface of a hollow cavity, in particular a borehole, by means of a light beam, whereby the device can be introduced into the hollow cavity, said device having an optical fibre to which light from a light source is applied. The main feature of the invention is that the device has a cone (9) having a reflecting cladding surface, said cone being permanently connected to the device, and that the longitudinal axis of the optical fibre (1) in its resting position is arranged axially in relation to the cone axis and connected to the device in such a way that at least the end of the optical fibre (1) at the light exit side is movable, and that mechanisms are provided permitting the optical fibre (1) to become displaced from its resting position in such a way that the light beam exiting from the optical fibre (1) and impinging on the cone cladding describes at least a closed curve about the cone tip and a light beam (7) circulating in the holl ow cavity can be generated by reflection on the cone cladding
