Title
Virtual Reality for improved man-machine interaction in robotics
Abstract
This paper describes new methods for the man-machine interaction in robotics based on Virtual Reality techniques. The paper illustrates the potential of this technology for the remote operation and the off-line programming of industrial robots. A summary will be given of the recent development work at the Fraunhofer-Institute for Manufacturing Engineering and Automation, including a new operator concept for the use of Virtual Reality in telemanipulation.
