Abstract
The method involves operating a controller from a server console (20) which linked to a CPU (11). Movement coordinates are monitored in a computer (12) linked to a drive control (13) and bus-bar (18) connected to the hexapod suspension of the carriers. The current non-orthogonal movement directions are monitored and translated as orthogonal coordinates. The coordinates are measured against predetermined theoretical orthogonal coordinates, transformed back into non-orthogonal coordinates and transmitted to the individual movement controls. ADVANTAGE - Ensures non-orthogonal carriers retain freedom of movement but have corresponding dynamic behaviour to orthogonal carriers.
