Abstract
A four-component tunable diode laser spectroscopy system for highly sensitive real time car exhaust gas analysis with four diode lasers operated simultaneously in frequency multiplex is reported on. The sample gas cell with a long optical path of 100 m and a short one of 15 cm is kept at 190 C and 50 hPa. This enables analysis of a number of trace components like formaldehyde, ethene or methanol with detection limits in the 10 ppb range in correlation to major constituents. First test measurements on a dynamometer facility are presented.
