We understand Virtual Reality as an interaction paradigm which can be used to achieve a sense of telepresence. This makes it useful, among other applications, for the control of teleoperators in critical situations. Our research, presented in this paper, investigates using a Virtual Reality interface with visual, kinesthetic, orientation and motion feedback for the control of a teleoperator in microsurgery. We present details of the implementation of a first prototype.
