Title

Toxicokinetics and carcinogenicity of man-made fibres

Other Title
Toxikokinetik und Kanzerogenität von Kunstfasern
Abstract
The toxicological aspect of emissions from fibre reinforced plastics (FRP) after processing is discussed. The use of thin glass fibres and of Kevlar fibres, probably can induce lung tumours, if the concentration of critical fibres is in the range of that found for asbestos fibres. Additionally the emissions of respirable plastic powder are suspected to induce lung fibrosis.
