Titel
Structured Chromium Layers - Process Technology & Applications
Abstract
Surface structure is an important functional property of technical surfaces. Chromium layers with a structure consisting of hemispheres can be plated with a new process. The hemispheres can be varied in diameter and distance from each other. Rough surfaces with interesting properties can be designed and optimized for specific applications. The structured chromium has already been applied in several technical fields, such as liquid transport, forming tools or working rolls for sheet metal processing. The specific technical and economic advantages of the new chromium layer will be explained.
