Service Capability as Marketing Tool: How to Achieve a High Service Level

Abstract
High service capability and low stockpiling costs are the requirements which companies have to meet when directly selling to an end customer. Among these companies are manufacturers of white and brown goods, of measuring instruments and control units, as well as of electrical installation equipment. These enterprises are constantly facing tasks similar to the following: Establishment, review and updating of stockpiling and material planning strategies for finished and semi-finished products, and development and implementation of organisational or technical efficiency measures to shorten replacement time. This article helps to find ways for a targeted solution of these problems.
