Title

Review of safety issues for laser systems in manufacturing

Abstract
The protection program of engineering safety-related issues is reviewed in the evaluation field of industrial laser systems in manufacturing, which centers about system design and operational features such as control of operation, maintrance, personnel, and area. The main emphasis is on diagnosis of laser radiation, degradation of optical components, danger zones of laser radiation, protective housing, dynamic performance, safety aspects of beam delivery systems, hazards of radiation, hazards of emissions, exhaust and filter techniques as function of processing variables in view of devices for monitoring and controlling safety. On the base of engineering control measures certain features of administrative control measures are descussed, which impact on the safe use of industrial laser systems.
