In the following paper a welding technique is presented which allows to weld pipes and plates faser than with normal keyhole welding. Materials with high reflectivities e.g. aluminium, copper or brass as well as coated materials could also be welded. The beam polarization is used in a way that the beam is quided to the joining point.
