Abstract
High quality requests of products mean also the demand for constant material conditions fitting for the stress range. Therefore the quality assurance of semifinished and finished products is increasingly demanding nondestructive methods for the determination of the material properties. Nondestructive methods for the determination of microstructure, for the measurement of texture and residual stresses and for the characterization of surfaces and near-shear areas are available. To increase the costs assumed by defects the development is going to integrate the quality assurance into the material development and production process. Furthermore the potential of nondestructive methods is qualified for a fast and inexpensive characterization of materials during the technique- and product development.
