Qualitative Analysis of Software Engineering Data Using Rough Sets
Abstract
Software measurement is an essential device to better understand, control, and improve quality within software development. Goal-oriented measurement approach is focusing on a top-down approach starting with the goal and its subsequent refinement into questions and metrics. Analysis of resulting measurement data is often concerned with uncertainty and incompleteness. Rough set based approach is applied for related analysis. Firstly, essential cost drivers of the Constructive COst Model for prediction of software cost are investigated. Secondly, a software maintenance problem resulting from an industrial project is studied.
