Title

Progress in the analysis of diesel soot particles

Abstract
Diesel particulate extracts have been characterized by HPLC and mass spectrometry. PAH were determined with HPLC and fluorescence detection. Nitrated PAH were characterized by tandem mass spectrometry under positive chemical ionization conditions. The extend of artifact formation during sampling was determined for 1-nitropyrene oxygenated PAH were characterized by electron impact mass spectrometry. (ITA)
