Abstract
Sections of a steam header have been produced from X20 CrMoV 121 and T91 powder material, using the HIP process to produce compaction and solidification. Following production and quality contol inspection this material has been subjected to an extensive evaluation programme, to determine its mechanical properties. Tensile, impact, creep and fatigue testing have demonstrated that the PM material produced is at least as good as its wrought equivalent. PM material is very homogeneous and its properties are isotropic.
