Abstract
The photon drag effect in a two-dimensional electron gas of a GaAs/AlGaAs multi-quantum well system is measured using the ps infrared pulses of the wavelength-tunable free electron laser source FELIX. The temporal response of the sample on a ps timescale has been verified, and the continuous spectral response through the intersubband resonance is investigated for low and high intensities at room temperature and at T=100 K. An analysis of the lineshape yields information about the momentum relaxation times of the electrons in the ground and excited subbands.
