Titel
A new approach for the performance evaluation of solar cells under realistic reporting conditions
Abstract
Usually solar cells are assessed using the efficiency at standard reporting conditions (SRC; 1000W/qm;25 degree C; AM 1,5 reference spectrum). The efficiency of a solar cell exposed to outdoor conditions differs considerably from the SRC efficiency. The objective of our work is to develop an algorithm which permits the determination of the realistic reporting conditions (RRC) efficiency of solar cells without the need for long-term outdoor measurements of the test objects. We investigated the influence of global irradiance, temperature and spectral irradiance on sample cells made of mono-Si, multi-Si and GaAs and calculated their RRC efficiencies for Freiburg (48 degree N) and the year 1986.
