Titel
Monitoring and evaluation of a residential house with transparently insulated walls
Abstract
A newly built residential house in Freiburg with 70 qm transparently insulated (TI) facade was monitored over 12 months from January 1 to December 31, 1990. This report analyses the performance of the TI facade, the heating comfort inside the building, and the energy consumption for space heating during the heating season. The interior thermal conditions during the summer season are evaluated to show the efficiency of the facade's shading device. For domestic hot water heating a self made TI collector storage is used in this house. The energy output and efficiency of this vertically installed collector storage are reported. Finally the extra costs and the annual energy costs of the TI building are calculated.
