Abstract
Powders of self-lubricating materials were produced by mechanical alloying in the systems brass / tungsten disulfide and brass / graphite. The development of microstructure during the mechanical alloying process was investigated. Homogeneous dispersions of graphite into the brass matrix could be achieved. The wear properties of such consolidated and sintered composites are reported
