Title

Measurement and inspection aspects of industrial robots and sensors.

Other Title
Meß- und prüftechnische Gesichtspunkte von Industrierobotern und Sensoren
Abstract
It has been proven in the last years that a combination of sensors and industrial robots leads to new types of applications related to inspection and measurement tasks encountered in industry. Based on these developments standardization efforts have been undertaken to synchronize different activities and to reach for a unique taxonomy. In this paper we will first deal with these new standardization efforts that emerge in Germany and that have already practical aspects of sensor fusion, and the applications related to quality assurance tasks where vision systems and industrial robots are used in flexible inspection cells. Integrated aspects are discussed that deal with the features necessary for the interfacing to the CIM-environment.
