The object to be supported stands on a shoe which is movable in a guide channel. An operating device has a drawing-out unit for gripping and sliding the shoe in and out. The shoe has a retaining face formed as prongs, and through its gaps pass the prongs of a lifting device so that the object can be raised and set down.
