Knowledge-based computer aided process planning system

Taking into consideration the more and more responsibility and significance of the activities in the enterprises preceeding production an enormous effort in rationalization and/or automation of these activities in scientific and research institutions has been made. The main point of this work is emphasised on one significant part of these activities; namely, after the short overview on the priciples of process planning and the demands on it as well, there is a description, herewith about a new attempt for development system of process planning which has to generate plans for prismatic parts by which the automatic transfer of the geometric data from a CAD-system into an expert system is carried out.
