Title

An interior compartment protection system based on motion detection using CMOS imagers

Abstract
The aim of motion detection in image sequences for scene analysis is long established. Also, it can be used in applications like surveillance or occupant detection for segmentation of moving objects as the first signal processing step. This contribution presents a novel image processing system based on a CMOS image sensor installed at the car roof for many purposes such as interior compartment monitoring for theft prevention or object recognition. The presented approach concentrates on investigations of a suitable camera system for automotive environments and algorithms for motion detection for burglary protection.
