Software for the control of logistics systems is an old but nevertheless intensive discussed theme. Especially in relation to the idea of highly integrated production systems software becomes more and more a main factor for a successfull realization - but for the risk of "no go" as well. Since production flow control and material flow control have to be linked together in modern systems a complete integration philosophy and concept is evident - only in this case CIM can be implemented successfully. From now on we have to focus on the "Ill in the abbreviation "CIM" - a focus on the "C" we have had long enough.
