Abstract
One aspect of photogrammetric exploitation of avionic and satellite based imagery in the remote sensing domain is the calculation of a robust reference transformation of the image onto a map (registration) whose coordinates can be easily transformed in a geoid based coordinate system (geo-coding). The purpose of geo-coding is the improvement of image exploitation by GIS (Geographic information System) utilisation. For automation the coding task appropriate structures (landmarks) and regions of expectation have to be detected in the image domain and in parallel in the GIS data. After the results have been matched they are verified by considering pass point constellations.
