Title

Generation of tooth models for ceramic dental restorations

Abstract
Complete CAD/CIM-systems for dental restorations require user interaction for the construction of tooth inlays in ceramics. An automation is only possible if the typical geometry of the teeth is known by the system. One realizable way for the solution of this problem is the restoration of the occlusal surface by adaptation of an appropriate tooth model. In this paper, we present a method for developing and generating of tooth models including dental medical knowledge about the occlusal surface. Furthermore, our approach includes an adaptation process which can be extended to an automatic tooth restoration system.
