Framework Conditions of using Biotechnology in the Food Industry: Results of a Delphi Study

Abstract
The impacts of modern biotechnology on the agrifood sector in five EU countries (Spain, Italy, Greece, Netherlands and Germany) are analysed using the Delphi methodology. Data were from more than 1200 questionnaires to people involved in the food industry. Methodology is reviewed and the future application of modern biotechnology in the food industry is discussed. The different framework conditions in the five countries for future application are explored and the attitudes of different expert groups are investigated.
