Title

Evaluation of thermally induced residual stresses in white cast iron and iron-carbon steel.

Other Title
Ermittlung von thermisch induzierten Eigenspannungen in weißen Gußeisen und Stählen
Abstract
Technical materials in general have a microscopic heterogeneous structure, i.e. they contain two or more phases with different thermally induced residual stresses. The kownledge of residual micro and macro stresses is for example necessary to assess the stress condition of a component. A micromagnetic technique in combination with a theoretical model is used in order to evaluate these residual micro stress states in steel and white cast iron. It has been found that the derived micromagnetic parameters correspond well with the theoretical model.
